So, a micro reflection, a micro story. I’d just been talking to a church leader and she was reflecting that the most important people in the church are those that welcome new people in, because they make the difference.
If people come in and they feel that we’re cold, they won’t come back. Doesn’t matter how good the rest of the elements of the service are. Whereas if those people are warm, people will come back for the welcome and the community, and in time they’ll hear more of God speaking through His word and worship and prayer and everything else.
So welcomers, you are great. And perhaps for some church leaders, maybe how is the welcome in your church? Perhaps it needs a little bit of encouragement or enhancement.
