The Role
The Head of Finance is a non-clergy employee and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Chair of Finance. The role manages the finances for four separate organisations and charities (listed below), together with the associated funds and trusts and investments and day to day management outlined within the parish’s financial controls process documentation.
- The PCC of Christchurch
- Christchurch Priory Enterprises (CPEL)
- The Priory House Trust
- Christchurch Priory Building Conservation Trust
The role also manages the associated financial processes concerning the employment of staff.
Essential Requirements
- Experience of charity finance including Gift Aid
- Ability to ensure VAT compliance and file VAT returns on behalf of the parish
- Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts and forecasts
- Prepare and monitor budgets
- Manage the annual audit working with accountants and auditors
Candidates should demonstrate:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or 5 years experience of working within a similar role
- A proven track record of financial management
- A very high level of competence when working with Excel and financial software packages such as Sage
