Mentoring can be particularly appropriate for first time incumbents and those moving on from curacy.
Mentors are experienced clergy who are available to listen to the situation, challenges and opportunities of clergy and offer support and ideas for developing their ministry. There is a considerable amount which is new for first time incumbents and it can be immensely helpful to talk things through with those who have travelled similar paths before, often in multiple places, and can bring reassurance and a different perspective.
Mentors are offered to all first time incumbents and can be available to other clergy on request. Chris Hill is the lead in this provision.
